KEADY ENGAGE YOUTH

13th Sep 2017

An information event on Monday 18th of September 7-9pm in the TMAC centre Keady.

The three projects I am recruiting for at this event are;

  1. KEY project – KEADY ENGAGE YOUTH :
  2. This is a partnership project with myself (EA) and ENABLE NI. The KEY project aims to provide a safe and stimulating space for young people with an additional need from the Keady and District area. I am looking to recruit a team of young people aged 16+ who I will train, in partnership with our volunteer development worker, to help deliver activities for the KEY group in Keady. This would be of particular interest to students who are looking for volunteering experience to help them access teaching/caring courses.
  3. KEADY YOUTH FORUM: This group look at the needs of young people in the area and develop social action projects to help tackle these issues. In the past they have developed Christmas events for families in need, cultural awareness events and helped with various community events. This year we are aiming to look at the issue of anti –social/risk taking behaviours in the Keady area. All participants will receive training and millennium volunteer certificates.
  4. KEADY YOUNG WOMENS GROUP: This group will look at issues relevant to young women. This year we will look at confidence building, self-esteem, mental health, safe socialising and positive relationships.

These project are available to all young people aged 14+, The KEY project is more specialised therefore only available to young people aged 16+, all projects will meet once a week from 6.30-9 pm. If there are any young people/ year groups who may benefit from these projects I am available to meet with them in school during break times or I can arrange a meeting after school, I can also attend assemblies to present this information to relevant year groups.
